The Sporades to the Northwest of the Aegean Sea are less affected by the notorious strong winds, therefore - like in the Ionian Sea – sailing is easy for families and less experienced crews. The distances are manageable, long trips or nighttime cruises are unnecessary. These are beautiful sailing waters; their islands are much greener in contrast to the Cyclades, the countless beaches are   very popular in summer.

The main island Skiathos with its many beautiful bays, is home harbor to many charter yachts. The neighboring islands are Skopelos, Alonnios, Pelagos and Skyros. There are also a multitude of uninhabited islands in the Northern Sporades – among others the islands of Peristera, Yioura and Piperi. There are lots of leisure attractions during main season; in the off-season the locals and yachts men are usually among themselves. The beaches of Skiathos and Skopelos rank among the most beautiful in the whole of the Aegean Sea. The Eastern Sporades with the islands of Lesbos, Limnos and Chios are closely situated to the Turkish coast.
