Yacht Charter Brazil / Angra dos Reis

Angra dos Reis with the Marina Verolme and the Yacht Charter base lies in a protected Gulf, the Bahia da Ilha Grande, with countless islands and islets, jungle, waterfalls, untouched beaches, a blue storybook lagoon and fairytale-like dream bays. There are even several national parks in this region.

Highlight in the West of the bay: the harbour town of Paraty, whose white houses with colourful doors and windows gleam from afar. Because of its Colonial architecture, it has been put under monumental protection. The historic centre is car-free; nowadays the inhabitants tend to live off tourism more than off the harbour. The cultural and artistic life is divers, live-music and traditional festivals add to the cheerful atmosphere.

It’s only twelve nautical miles to the offshore island of Ilha Grande. Only a few thousand inhabitants live on an area of about 125 square miles. Large parts of the island are national park – people in search of endless solitary beaches, will also spot the occasional dolphins, howler monkeys or tortoises, and feel in absolute paradise. The Mata Atlantica, the Atlantic rainforest, also dominates this area. Largest village of the island is Vila de Abraao – with a jetty and an embarkation point for excursion boats, which arrive from Angra dos Reis and Mangaratiba.
