Cres

Yacht Charter Cres

The island Cres in the northern part of the Kvarner bay is the biggest island of the Adriatic Sea and a popular yacht charter destination – it is 66 kilometres long and up to 12 kilometres wide. The coast length of the island is almost 250 kilometres. The mountainous island with was part of Italy up to the second World War under the name Cherso – the capital Cres still shows a lot building in Venetian style. Cres is connected to the island Losinj in the south near the village Osor. The sweet water lake Vrana whose surface lies over the sea-level but whose floor even is lying below the seabed is regarded as nature phenomenon – the lake is the drinking water reservoir of the island. There also are free living goose vultures, one of the last colonies of Europe, on Cres.

The Yacht Charter base is located in the great, very well equipped ACI-Marina Cres in the eastern part of the Creski bay. Cres is a perfect starting point for yacht charter cruises in the Kvarner bay, sailing to the northern islands of the Kornati archipelago or to the Istrian coast.
