The Balearic Islands Mallorca / Majorca and Ibiza with Formentera are a wonderful and very popular cruising area for luxury yachts. Due to the legal situation in Spain, yachts need a special permit for charters. This is why, compared for example to France, Italy or the Eastern Mediterranean, there is only a certain limited number of crewed luxury yachts for charter which have the necessary licence for the Balearic Islands. Most of them are based in Palma de Mallorca or in Port Adriano in the Southwest of Mallorca, some in Ibiza, for example in the Marina Botafoch. Of course the yachts from Mallorca are availabe for charters to Menorca and to or from Ibiza as well.
