Mykonos is one of the largest islands in the Yacht Charter area Cyclades. The island is very much dominated by tourism.
West of the Yacht Charter destination Mykonos is the almost uninhabited island of Delos, famous for the Apollo sanctuary and many other building of which the ruins are worth a visit – since 1990, Delos is a Unesco world heritage site. The island of Tinos is lying in the north of Mykonos, the island of Naxos in the south.
At Mykonos, the legendary movie Alexis Zorbas was made – a major venue, the café by the sea, is a favorite place of Yacht Charter tourists in Mykonos. The Chora, the heart of the capital of Mykonos, with narrow streets and white houses, shows typical Cycladic architecture. Pubs, bars, cafes: the Chora is Mykonos is full of them and especially popular as a party site – perfect for Yacht Charter crews who love going out at night. Typical postcard picture: the four famous windmills . The harbor is in the x-generation "guarded" by the pelican Petros, who in the evening also likes to visit the taverns and being catered there.
In the city harbor, mainly used by fishing and pleasure boats, Yacht Charter crews usually find no space for berthing. Besides this port offers little protection when the Meltemi is blowing and can then be very uncomfortable. Further north is the port Tourlos – here is the place for yachts, especially in the eastern part Yacht Charter crews stay protected. All infrastructure for Yacht Charter tourism is available. Many Yacht Charter crews will take the time for a stop at Mykonos during their sailing cruise through the Cyclades.
There are several yacht charter companies who offer sailing yachts directly from Mykonos – a large fleet of charter yachts of the Bavaria and Dufour range is now based here. Just ask for offers for you sailing holiday from Mykonos.
